At Below The Knees a shoe specialist will measure your feet to ensure the highest quality of comfort possible. If it
is NAOT you are seeking and a size or color is not available in the store we would be happy to custom order a pair just for you.

When the selection process is over an order will be placed for your special shoes and in most cases will be available in 7-10 days or less.

Our Business

Below The Knees grew out of the need for a shoe store that addresses comfort shoes, the shoe fitting process involved, the variety of foot sizes and widths, and a level of customer service that is highly individualized.

Our store was originally located on High Street in downtown Morgantown, West Virginia. The store has now relocated to the Historic Seneca Center also in Morgantown. Our store is located on the lower level of the Seneca Center with an outside entrance. The Seneca Center glass factory was built in 1896 as one of the first glass factories in the area but closed in 1983. Today the Seneca Center houses many retail establishments like ours.

Who We Are

The Cobbler's Bench was the original store which offered everything that is now offered at the three separate stores within one shop. Marlene Robinson bought The Cobbler's Bench in September of 2003. Realizing learning how to repair shoes was a necessity after buying the store, she acquired the guidance and teaching skills from two local cobblers and has been doing it on her own ever since.

About 3 years after buying the business, name and all, Marlene further realized that 'The Cobbler's Bench' did not sufficiently express the other services offered and decided then to give each entity its own identity.
